Dolphins 45 (8-1) - Patriots 17 (6-3) Wweek 10: Recaps 11px-Star_full.svgGame Of The WeekWweek 10: Recaps 11px-Star_full.svg

In Week 11's Game of the Week, the 6-2 Patriots hosted the 7-1 Dolphins. Miami never does well against the Pats in New England in cold weather so this game was one which the Dolphins needed to be extra mentally prepared. Not to mention that the Patriots are only one game behind them for first place.

From the 1st quarter, the Dolphins set the tone of the game. Rookie RB Girley (8 car, 65 yards, 2 TDs) scored the opening TD with a 3-yard run into the endzone. In the 2nd quarter, the Phins added another 10 points behind a Henne-to-Brown (10 car, 131 yards, 3 TDs [1 running TD]) 18-yard TD pass and a Carpenter FG. New England could only manage to respond with a FG. By halftime, the Phins had a 17-3 lead over the Pats.

In the second half, New England put up 14 points against a stingy Dolphins defense but the Miami offense retaliated with 28 points. QB Tom Brady (24-42 for 342 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT) had a productive day in moving the ball, but could not penetrate Miami's endzone when the opportunity presented itself. In a big time showing, the Dolphins have alerted the league that they are already in playoff mode. In Week 11, the Phins face-off against another division rival, the Bufalo Bills. After a deflating loss, the Patriots look to put a hurting on the Steelers in their Week 11 match-up.

Colts 36 (6-3) - Titans 16 (3-6)[b] [b](Credit: Warped71)

With a win here the Titans could very well thrust themselves back into playoff contention. Speed demon RB Chris Johnson (23 car, 192 yds, 1 TD/ 5 rec, 57 yds) accounted for most of the Titans offense this day. Even though the Total Offense was near equal, the Titans were done in by their -2 TO margin. J. Stewert (15 car, 90, 1 TD) had a modest day, but it was Peyton Manning's near perfect day (15-19, 247 yds, 3TD, 0 INT, 0 sack) and his favorite target of the day A. Gonzalez (6 rec, 118 yds) were all that were needed to dispose of the Titans and perhaps close the curtain on their dwindling playoff chances.

Panthers (9-0) 20 - 17 Saints (7-2)

The Saints hosted the undefeated and 1st-place Panthers in Week 10. With a win, the Saints would tie with the Panthers in the NFC South.

As expected, the game was very tight and it came down to the final play of the game to determine the winner of this battle. Through two quarters, the score was tied at 10. During halftime both coaches stressed to their players to keep their concentration level up and not make mistakes. In such an even match, it only takes one play to demoralize and opponent.

Towards the end of the third quarter, the Saints FB Evans (4 rec, 58 yds, 2 TDs [1 running TD]) bulldozed to the endzone for a 1-yard TD run to take the lead. In the 4th quarter, the Panthers took a 3-point lead by scoring a combined 10 points that included a 38 yard FG and a 27-yard TD run by RB DeAngelo Williams ( 25 car, 185 yards, 1 TD). With less than 20 seconds left in the gam, the Saints found themselves 2 yards away from the endzone and from victory. As the ball was snapped, QB Brees (15-21 for 164yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) tried to scramble to the endzone after not finding an open receiver, but was tackled for no gain. NO immediately lined up to snap the ball and get one more play before the clock reached zero. Snapping the ball with two seconds left, QB Brees attempted a throw but was batted down and thus ending the game.

The Panthers are now 9-0 and hold a 2 game lead over both the Falcons (7-2) and Saints (7-2). In Week 11, Carolina will face a Bengals team who's coaching staff in currently in disarray. The Saints put forth a winning effort but fell 2 yards short. They face a tough but struggling Buccs team in Week 11.

Eagles 35 (5-4) - Texans 34 (5-4) (Credit: Warped71)

This one was a barn-burner from start to finish. Even with a near 2-1 TOP advantage the Texans were still denied the victory. the astonishing Tim Tribow had himself another Vick-like performance (12-15, 202 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT/ 8 car, 75 yds, 2 TD) along with his favorite target, none other than RB Lesean Mccoy (6 rec, 130 yds). Matt Schaub and his aerial assault (21-32, 359 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT) were not enough to squeak out the elusive victory.

The result: the Eagles manage to keep there playoff hopes alive in the rugged NFC East, and the Texans shoot themselves in the foot and fall to third place in the crowded AFC South.

Raiders 38 (4-5) - Broncos 14 (3-6)

Both the Raiders and Broncos came into this game with a 3-5 record and in a tie for second place in the AFC West, behind the leading Chargers (5-3). Both teams still have playoff hopes and a win versus a division rival is crucial.

If a team can run the ball and play solid defense, chances are that team will win. That was definitely the case in this game. The Raiders' RB Daren MacFadden took his team on his back and rushed for 204 yards on 23 carries and scored 4 TDs (includes a receiving TD). The Broncos trailed all game and it was up to QB Kyle Orton to bring his team back to live. Unfortunately, the Raiders pass defense was too well prepared. Orton could not find success against the Raiders fast and alert secondary. The Broncos QB was 19 of 35 for 252 yards, 1 TD, and 4 TDs.

The big win puts the Raiders at 4-5 and within reach of the first place Chargers, who they will face in must-win game in Week 11. The Broncos fall to 3-5, but still have time to put together a great run. They will hope to begin their winning streak in Week 11 against the 5-4 Jags who are dead-set on not losing.

49ers 38 (8-1) - Buccs 21 (5-4) (Credit: Warped71)

The 49ers came into this one being the heavy favorites, and at the end of the game they left no doubts about how formidable they truly are. With neither teams Defense seeming to get off the bus, both offenses were left to run wild. Josh Freeman (24-36, 361 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT) led the charge for the Buccs, but it just wasn't enough to keep up with the scoring of the 49ers and their number 2 rusher in the league. With Alex Smith (10-11, 159 yds, 1 TD) do his best to minimize mistakes, that let the leagues number 2 rusher, Frank Gore (15 car, 261 yds, 4 TD) to have another monster day. Barring a total meltdown, the 49ers have pretty much wrapped up the NFC West, while the Buccs drop to 4th place in the toughest division so far in all of sports. I do not envy them and their seemingly dim playoff hopes.
